“I can't find what I want!”

We hear it time and again from the people who participate in our usability studies.

It does seem strange: Web teams don’t set out to make a site hard to use so why do so many sites cause so many people difficulty?

We believe that part of the reason is that very few teams share a clear vision of their customer's needs, abilities and desires. In the absence of any real evidence about what your customers like, want or prefer, many important questions end up being answered through guesswork.

Questions like…

  • "Is this page easy to use?"
  • "Does the navigation work if you haven't been here before?"
  • "Can someone with special needs or using an assistive technology use this site?"

…are too important to be guessed at. The cost of guessing wrong is usually much greater than the cost finding out the answers.

Our specialism is helping web teams develop a clearer picture of their customers so that they can make better decisions about site design, content and structure.

With tight deadlines, limited budgets and demanding clients it is never going to be easy to make a good site but without a clear vision of the customer it is going to be even more difficult.

Our approach is to work with you to develop a detailed plan for producing a usable, accessible, well-designed site that is intuitive and enjoyable to use.

Using our portable picture-in-picture recording system we can run usability and accessibility studies in offices, schools, homes, internet cafes, libraries or just about anywhere. We deliver key video segments on DVD so that you can see for yourself the evidence on which our findings our based.

Our clients include Arts Council England, The Environment Agency, The National Trust, Bath & North East Somerset Council, The Local Government Association, I Can Play It, TheFilter, Screenlearning and Float New Media Design.

Whatever the scale of your ambitions for you site, we believe we can help you give your customers the best possible experience.
