Accessibility testing
Description
A site can be technically accessible but still be very difficult for anyone relying on assistive technology to use. To ensure genuine accessibility we test your site using browser and computer setups that are typical of those used by people with special needs. Where appropriate we arrange for a panel of users with special needs to assess the site in their own environment
Benefits
- Provides a more detailed picture than accessibility auditing alone
- Exposes any real-world shortcomings specific to a particular assistive technology
What we do
Many users rely on a standard browser used with one or more assistive technologies. We employ expert users of assistive technologies who can provide detailed feedback on the degree of compatibility they encounter
Deliverables
- Executive summary
- Overview of methodology used
- Key findings
- Audio or Video highlights (depending on assistive technology being used)
Accessibility audit
Description
We establish how close your site comes to meeting the requirements for accessibility defined by the relevant standards. These may include The Disability and Discrimination Act in the UK or Section 508 in the US.
Benefits
- Ensures your site is accessible to the widest range of users
- Improves compatibility with speech readers and other assistive technologies
What we do
We perform manual and automated validation of pages against relevant W3C and WAI standards. We can also validate against other standards if required.
Deliverables
We deliver a report including:
- Executive summary
- Overview of methodology used
- Key findings
- Recommendations
